In This Final Hour

In this final hour, darkness looms over the city. Death and decay are increasingly rampant. Evidently seen by the lack of love and dissatisfaction of love, in a rising number of divorces, adulteress acts, homosexual desire, poverty and an indifferent spirit; all seems but lost.

But there is a generation that is rising for this very hour.

There is a power that is rising, among the sons and daughters of God. There is an authority above all authorities, that is coming to redeem the captive. There is a champion that has long lived before our time, who holds the keys to all our victories!

Though darkness continues to loom over the city, slowly lingering in, is a silent but over-powering light and brightness, which without err sets everything free in its path. This light has always lived, both now and forevermore.

This light is Jesus Christ.

When Faith Reaches the Tipping Point

Water is poured from a bottle in a glassOur lives are constantly in an experiment with faith. A faithful or faithless lifestyle can be understood through a glass of water. The glass represents our faith. The water represents our hope. First we must understand that there is no other type of faith, but real faith. You can’t have a half-hearted belief, otherwise it is not faith. There is real faith and there is dead faith.

“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see” (Hebrews 11:1). Examine two points here, “hope” and “confidence” must go hand-in-hand to create the faith. When a glass is being filled with water it may or may not reach the lid. “Hope” works in the same manner. Though we may not have the confident belief in our hope immediately, we do have that “hope” which we must cultivate and build to reach faith- a confident assurance in what we hope for. As we place our trust and hope in God, the water is being filled. That hope will reach its maturity and create faith in you, or in other words a revelation.

Many things seem impossible to a man, especially when God calls him to a certain work. However, it is the man’s responsibility to keep trusting God and placing His hope in Christ, which will lead to a full glass of water creating in him faith! You can also understand this by relating “revelation” to it. For example, a revelation must occur for a healing to take place. This is not always the case when one is receiving prayer, but I find it is very much critical. One may to an extent receive a healing and etc. but to stay in divine health and procreate a lifestyle of spirit-living, the individual must live in revelation.

A full cup represents mature faith. God builds mature faith in us. If our faith is not full in that which we ask, we should not hope to receive it. “Let him who asks, believe and have no doubt” (James 1:6).

In the same manner, faith operates. You see, faith is only faith when it is “without wavering.” Faith without works is obsolete (James 2:17). It is in operable until it reaches the “lid.”

For those who haven’t grasped the concept yet- the lid represents the tipping point of your faith. It represents ‘proven trust’ in God. It is at the tipping point that proves you are still relying on God. Many ask God for certain miracles and works in their lives, but if they ask today, believe for tomorrow, but lose hope after that- how successful can that faith be?

There are many elements to understand here. The fundamentals are as follows:

#1 Without faith it is impossible to please God

#2 He who believes must believe and not doubt

#3 Faith allows God to move

a) We have a free will

b) Believing is trusting

c) Trust invites God in

If we believe for God to act or carry out His work in our lifetimes, dare to believe how critical your personal faith is. We can assume God will do what He must regardless but I just don’t believe Jesus spoke in vain when He said:

And He did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief. (Matthew 13:58)

But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt. (James 1:6)

Anyone who comes to God must believe that He exists and rewards those who earnestly seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6).

Faith also expedites events. Believing for a loved one to change? Are you praying for them- casting down strongholds that hold power over them? Are you blessing them and proclaiming the authority of Christ over them? My friends we must pray and believe without wavering that He who holds the power is just and able to do all that we ask in His name. And He does not wish for any to perish (2 Peter 3:9).

Pray my friends, pray! He is on His throne and is able to do exceedingly more than you can think or ask (Ephesians 3:20). I have heard too many stories and testimonies of God’s power when people stood in faith.

Andrew Wommack was interceding for it to rain in a season of drought. It wasn’t until he aggressively took it upon himself to pray and intercede for the rain that something began to happen. For three days, during his prayer, the clouds would come, darken and thunder, but it would not rain. Not even a drizzle. Wommack recalled how he began to feel the Holy Spirit empowering Him through the prayer. On the third day, the clouds came in again, brewing and thundering, and all of a sudden, it began to rain. It rained steadily for three whole days, and did not cause any downpours. God is good! Not only does He come on time, but in the best fashion possible!

Wommack stated that because He began to pray and believe for it, the rain would have surely come, but it might have come days or weeks later, but the crop needed the rain within days or it would spoil. Faith has a tipping point.

Michael Walker from The Q997 radio station recalled how they stood believing for their pledge drive goal. Several days passed and they were still only halfway with a day or so left. The staff stood believing, encouraging one another, not allowing doubt to creep in. It was fascinating to hear that, because most of us would rather let our guard down, because faith makes you vulnerable, you set yourself up for an expectation you yourself cannot meet. Therefore, you need God to come through. That’s the definition of faith.

As the Q997 team stood in faith with a day or so left, they collected, I believe, more than they did in the past 2 or 3 days. I’m telling you… when God moves… He moves. It’s almost a funny illustration, but I believe it drives a point. I can imagine God watching as His faithful ones stand in the gap believing and God begins to look down and realize there are no human resources for the timing needed. He sees His children have believed Him to the end, reaching the tipping point, and according to His word, He promised faith would have its reward. Therefore, God nudges His heavenly resources over His throne to fall from heaven to earth to meet His children’s request!

We must realize, it is humanly impossible for certain events to take place or certain events to occur. The more we experience those positions of need, the more we can see God work in our lives. Dare to believe!

What does all of this mean for us today? Let’s go back to the glass of water analogy. The water represents ‘hope’ and ‘trust’ in God. Though you are not able to believe in something God said or is saying or for something you are asking, you can make a decision to ‘hope’ in Him. It is that decision to trust God will reveal and work in your life.

Only a revelation can give you a ‘faith’ that does not waver. A revelation is reflection of your spirit man. It gives you the ability to believe in the impossibilities of God. It is a spiritual work and nothing of your doing.

For example, let’s take our ability to believe that God loves us. How do we attain a position where we are fully convinced God loves us? We can say we believe, but if you actually believed, 99% of your day would be overwhelmed with peace and joy. But how much joy and peace do we experience in our daily lives oppose to anxiety and worry? Can you imagine the change in an individual who constantly meditates on the love of God- coming to a point where he has no doubt that an almighty God of great impossibilities loves him. It will change his entire perspective and Christ promised nothing short of that.

So today, do you want to attain that position of power and be fully convinced God loves you? First we must understand that we do not control revelationSo you must realize right now that you cannot give yourself a revelation of God’s love. Only the Holy Spirit can do that. But what you must do is place your hope and trust in God to reveal it to you. That is your responsibility!

Let go of that pressure to try and believe Biblical truths. Fear not, “I have overcome the world ” (John 16:33). Who has overcome? Christ. Not you. So then, it is Christ who will reveal it to you. Christ is the One with the victory. All you have to do is “hope in Him.”

As you keep placing that hope in Him, you are filling a glass of water. When the water reaches the lid, you will receive a revelation of what you are hoping and trusting for. For example, you believe God can heal you of your disease, but why aren’t you getting healed? It is because you don’t fully believe it yet. Your job is to keep placing your hope in Christ as your deliverer. By doing this, you are trusting in what God has said regarding your wellness. And as you continue in this hope, you will come to a realization of the truth. It is in a sense fighting through the soulish man. It is a process of renewing your mind to the Word of God and as you do that, revelation is sure to come.

There is no minimum or maximum time length that you must put in for something to occur because once faith reaches the tipping point it can’t go anywhere else but over. God moves based on your belief in Him. Belief in Him- faith- is only truly faith when it does not doubt.

When you receive a revelation, you receive faith, and faith moves mountains. Thus, you have reached the tipping point. Stand back and watch as God works.

Claimed by the Holy Spirit

Dedicated to my sister Christina in her ever-pursuit of sharing Christ

holy-spirit_1013

In the past few weeks, I’ve had the opportunity to share the Gospel with my neighbors and other closely-related people in my life. I have found it almost frustrating to persuade people into salvation to the point of asking God to give me the mind and perspective of the unbeliever so that I may be better equipped to share the message of the Gospel.

As I observed my own efforts and others’ around me trying to save the lost, the Holy Spirit gave me a fresh outlook and revelation on this topic. The following is a conversation between the Holy Spirit and myself:

How do we save people? It seems to be so difficult to persuade someone into trusting the Lord Jesus. There are two things I noticed in contemplation of all this. The first thing to note is that most of the time, an individual turns to the Lord when they are broken, either through a tragedy, loss, or hopelessness. When one is broken, they become aware of their ‘sorry’ state. They realize that something is missing. Hopelessness brings one realization of the reality of their corrupt state- being dead in spirit.

Therefore, a realization, or revelation, has to occur for one to see any need to repent and surrender. If they are #1 Not aware of their corrupt state, they cannot see the need for salvation. If a country is at war, both sides have the option of surrender. But a country at peace has no need to surrender. Thus, it is with salvation. Until one gets a revelation that they are, in fact, sinners in need of saving, they will have no true repentance nor are they able to repent.

The second point, or #2 Recognition of sin goes hand-in-hand with recognition of grace. Grace is the realization that there is a God who loves us. This is radical news to anyone. Therefore, when realization comes, there is no if-and-or-but, a person will immediately surrender and repent. Grace overlooks one’s addictions and in-turn says, “I accept you exactly the way you are”!

But often times, it takes a loss or tragedy for a man to find God, or more like, realize God. One may ask, “Where then is God when we are not lost or hurt”? The reality is that God is always present, but He cannot be recognized entirely to the point of surrender unless we receive that revelation.

Having said that, God is always at work within you, but A) Our flexibility with Him is respected by Him and B) He does all He can with what we give Him to work with. If we limit Him so much, what do we expect to happen? But faith will usher in the reality of His work. Faith will bring truth into manifestation.

Salvation is never achieved through indifference. One must get a revelation of their need for salvation. Realization and revelation will bring one to a position of surrender. Therefore, our job is not to save or convince people to claim salvation, because neither Christians nor Non-Christians own the rights to salvation. Salvation belongs to the Lord (Psalm 3:8). Only He can claim someone to it. Since the Lord is our salvation (Psalm 27:1), a revelation of the Lord is needed. That revelation is given from God. And it is only He who can save the lost.

The question becomes, “Who then can be saved”? God wills that none perish, but all come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). The progress begins with us, allowing the Lord to direct us to those individuals He wants us to minister to. We should follow this pattern: Speak, Pray, and Watch!

The steps of this pattern can be taken interchangeably. The steps are adjustable to the Lord’s direction. Speaking God’s Word and the truth of Jesus Christ should be our life story wherever we go, representing Christ and not allowing any man to tempt us with religion (The Standard Christian Epidemic). Praying should be a lifestyle for us believers, as it is the means by which the spiritual realm runs by. Watching is the concept of listening and obeying the Lord’s direction. Watching is also the prophetic realm. We are to be sensitive to His voice and direction through discernment and wisdom.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves. (Ephesians 2:8).

A look into “The World’s Greatest Secret”

Image

Whether you fulfill God’s will in your life or not, the Secret Place will remain to be a mystery. But partnership with Him will lead to a beautiful and extraordinary life.

The following is an introduction to my new ‘work in progress’, “The World’s Greatest Secret.” It is scheduled to publish by end of 2013.

Where is that Secret Place man can tap into and discover realities unknown to man? Is it possible to obtain such divine wisdom and strategy? Is there a place in man that has all the answers?

I once told an atheist man that God loved Him. He looked at me blankly, and he stated defensively that He only believed in what he could see and experience. Without losing a beat, the Holy Spirit spoke to me, saying, “Flesh is flesh and Spirit is spirit” (John 3:6-8). The mystery this man didn’t understand was that only those reborn of the Spirit could comprehend spiritual things. This man could not rely on his own understanding, because flesh understands only the things of the flesh. This is why God teaches us to trust Him by faith.

It is in silence that man finds God and God finds man. It is our spirits that redeem our souls, because that’s where the Holy Spirit resides. However, the Spirit cannot work within you if you live carnally minded. If you feed the flesh, you will starve the spirit. But if you feed the spirit, you will starve the flesh. Spiritual truth tends to be hard to understand, because only the spirit can discern spiritual truth. If we want to be changed, we must come to God by way of our spirits. As we open our hearts to Him, our souls are exposed and He is able to come in and touch us. He comes in and heals every wound. He exposes every thought of unbelief. He takes captive what does not belong in our hearts. This is the work of the Holy Spirit.

This secret place, in the very presence of God, is what allows you to acquire spiritual position. You are already seated with Christ in spirit (Ephesians 2:6), but it will not be activated until you draw from it. It will be from this Place that you acquire divine wisdom and knowledge. It will be from this Place that you learn to hear and do as God wills. As you come to know the will of God, you will gain that intimate knowledge that can only come from soaking in His presence in the Secret Place.

Whether you fulfill God’s will in your life or not, the Secret Place will remain to be a mystery. No one in the flesh can see the Spirit of God, yet He works and does for His good pleasure (Philippians 2:13). Those who join Him will perform extraordinary deeds that only God can be the author of. This partnership will lead to a beautiful and extraordinary life, abundant in joy and peace, proving the perfect will of God.

We can only activate that spiritual stature when we seek Him wholeheartedly. We discover Him in the Secret Place, in that deep, mysterious part of us that truly is the world’s greatest secret…

If you don’t believe what God has already spoken, what’s the point of God speaking to you?

Handing over keys on blue skyIf you don’t believe the principles and truths of God’s Word, where is the justification in God speaking to you?

I am not saying that He will not speak to you anymore, but there is no point! If you don’t believe what God has already spoken (which will set you free) what good are other words to you from God’s mouth? If you don’t make a heart decision to just believe what you read in the Bible and move forward with it, how will you believe if God speaks something else to you concerning what to do next in your job, ministry, or family? What’s the point I ask again, If you don’t believe what has been spoken and holds true, but cannot manifest because you don’t make a decision by faith to believe.

Believe then understand, don’t try to understand and then believe. It will not work. God is invisible to the physical eye. The Word of God is Spirit. Spirit can only be accessed by faith which is renewing the mind by believing the Word of God by faith.

Give faith a chance. Have you found anything else that works in this life? I don’t need to wait for your answer, I can just look since the dawn of man, and I find no other answer to life than faith in God. The greatest phenomenon in the world is the ignorance of the reality of God.

Do you want to be led by the voice of God continually/daily? Well then, start with the Word which has already been spoken. His mouth has been open since the beginning speaking us into existence. His mouth has not closed. He is still speaking today. But how can you expect to hear His voice if you don’t take the first step in believing what He has already spoken?

What will I liken the voice of God to? Imagine a friend of yours that always encourages you. He picks you up every time He encounters you. After every encounter, you feel satisfied and complete. However, as soon as you leave your Friend’s presence, you are met by all the others in your life, whom tell you the opposite. Every time you fall, they remind you what a failure you are. They keep you in check and speak hurtful things regarding your life. They speak much defeat to you. You listen to their words and don’t make any decision to ignore them. Their words pierce to your heart and leave you depressed and hurt, wondering why things are the way they are.

The next day you see this Friend who receives you with a big smile and hug that moves you to tears. You tell Him what all your other “friends” said, you lay it all out for him. He listens attentively with eyes full of compassion and tears. You start thinking to yourself, ‘Even this Friend understands life is not fair and feels sorry for me,’ and you sigh, wondering how you will ever make it. This Friend lifts your head up and says, “Friend, I cry because you didn’t believe what I told you. What I spoke to you is truth and lives inside you. What your friends spoke is what they see out of their ignorance. Nothing has changed. What I spoke to you is still true.” Now the friend realizes that if he would to ever overcome all that is said by other people, he would have to continue to believe everything this Friend told him.

God’s words never changed for you. He still knows you’re beautiful. He knows what he made you to be. He knows that if you will only hold His words true to your heart, then you will overcome everything that comes against you. There is nothing anyone can say that will hurt you if you anchor yourself in the Word of God. This is a spiritual transformation. Don’t try to understand how it’s possible to not be offended by people, because humanly it’s impossible. It is the spirit that needs to dominate your flesh, at which point, you will become supernaturally free.  Believe the Word of God for your life and you will start hearing him personally every day.

Who else will we go to, you have the words of eternal life (John 6:68). Let God be God; Let Him make your life beautiful. Without Him, you will only make a mess.

Why God Wants You Wealthy

build_wealthBeing rich is not selfish. Wanting to be rich is not selfish either. God’s Word defines “prosperity” by the following verse:

May you have enough to abound in every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8

It is very simple. Under scripture, prosperity is defined as having enough not only to tithe, but to support a ministry, sponsor a child, give to Godly charities, and so on. “Every good work,” is anything that has to do with the expansion of the Kingdom.

When your priority with finances is to expand the Kingdom of God, get ready to handle a lot of money. God is seeking stewards He can trust. How do you suppose God channels money to His servants? By His people. Did you assume God created the US currency out of thin air? Can He? Of course He can but God is bound by his own Word. He is not a liar, therefore  He will not counterfeit the US currency. Furthermore, He is limited to man’s obedience. He needs us to fulfill His purposes! If you cannot agree with this, then why are you still alive? Do you live merely for your own pleasure? We were made for His pleasure. In Him, we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28). We are called His servants, because we have been given a purpose to spread His kingdom! (Matthew 28:16)

God wants you wealthy because He wants to use you as a channel of finances towards His work. We are His stewards. God will use other people and open doors for you to receive money. The more money you receive, the more will be used for Kingdom work. The underlying question is, “Do you care for the Kingdom of God?”

The Bible speaks heavily on being a “giver” and to be “generous” in all our ways. “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” One of the reasons is because the “giver” always has more than the “receiver” (Acts 20:35). Once you learn to give, you will never be concerned about “receiving.” He desires us to imitate Him and Oh how rich He is! He lavishes His gifts upon us! We will never surpass His generosity, but we are to pursue His nature! He is a giver who always has enough. He wants His children to learn how, “Daddy does it!”

Many claim it is selfish to be rich. Is it selfish to feed the poor and clothe the needy? Is it selfish to help those in need?

Think about it, if you had wealth, how much more people can you bless! The question again is, “Can He trust you with the wealth?” Only you know the answer to that. He is your just Judge; He knows the intents and motives of your heart.

If your heart is set on God’s Kingdom and on the priority to give to His work, you will always have enough for yourself. God will use you as a channel and there will be more than enough to meet your needs and desires. He doesn’t demand your lack, but His priority is His Kingdom! You are a part of that Kingdom! He commissions you to extend the grace and love that was so freely given you.

Learn to give and you will learn to be rich. But as soon as you turn your hand back from giving, you are going against God’s principles. His love and mercy is not contingent upon your generosity, but your generosity is contingent upon your heart. What you do in your life is a direct result of what lives inside of you. If generous, love reigns.

Think of yourself as a channel and steward. You are the middle man between God and His work on earth. Those who stay away from money and are content with what they have, are right in being content, but you should seek more wealth for the primary reason of giving to the work of God.

Do you see “selfishness” in that?

The Hungry Soul

ImageWhat satisfies one’s soul?

The answer may shock you. Anything can satisfy your soul. We will always search for satisfaction. Satisfaction can be found in sin. This however is a short-lived and regenerative quench. It will make you hunger more and more. You will become addicted to sin, because it causes your thirst and appetite to increase. Not only does sin attach itself to you and becomes an addiction, but sin starves your soul. Though sin seems to satisfy one’s soul, it is in fact emptying it out, creating a stronger hunger. Therefore, sin does two things. It makes one hungrier and leaving the soul with an addiction, causes the individual to desperately fill his or her hunger in the quickest way, by sinning once more.

I am not speaking about a sexual sin specifically. I am speaking about the idols we hold to in our lives. Sin can be your quick temper. Sin can be your obsessiveness with fitness. Sin can be as simple as following the crowd. Sin is simply going contrary to faith and trust in God.

One may argue that they do not sin. My friend, if you are not being fully satisfied in the love of God, you are in sin. If you are not abiding in the love of God, you are abiding elsewhere. Deadly sin or not, you belong to your Father who art in heaven! Live as a child of God ought to. There is no “ifs, ands or butts,” if you are not in faith, you are in doubt. Sin is simply unbelief in Jesus Christ, whom the Father sent as a sacrifice for our sins. At the end of this age, it will not necessarily be a matter of the weight of your sin, but the weight of your defense. In the eyes of God, there is only One qualified to stand as an Intercessor. He is your defense attorney who has never lost a case! (Carman)

The question however remains to be that the soul is hungry. It must be filled with something. If one isn’t be satisfied by the love of God, they will be seeking and searching an output for their hunger. But real and permanent satisfaction will only occur when we fill the source of the hunger.

The hunger of your soul sources from the innate desire to know and be with God. Do you realize you are a designed creation! Do you realize you were in fact made by God, for God! You were not always a sinner, empty-handed. You were once experiencing the fullness of His glory as He permitted! This divine state that you were created in is the hunger of your soul! You have this innate desire to know God, because you once knew God! Though man was stripped of His righteousness through disobedience, it has been returned to us by way of Jesus Christ!

Knowing God is not merely knowledge about God. Knowing God is experiencing a new birth through the Spirit of God! Thus forth, it is having an ever-increasing, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ (2 Cor. 3:18). The knowledge of God is satisfaction; it meets the true definition of satisfaction- contentment. There is no other fulfillment that will cause us to be content. No other pleasure will bring us contentment, because every other pleasure, if not ultimately satisfied by the love of God, will arouse more hunger. Sin has a whiplash effect; it causes immediate hunger. Sin starves the soul! If we understood this truth, why would we ever entertain the thought of sin. To the Christian, it is a very contrary lifestyle. Don’t wonder why you feel spiritually stale if you are entertaining sin. Once again, bear in mind, sin is any idol in one’s life. It is simply unbelief; it is trying to fill our hunger with other pleasures. This can be anything, not necessarily evil, as we tend to associate sin with. If you feed the flesh, you will starve the spirit, but if you starve the flesh, you feed the spirit!

At the well in Sycher, Jesus met a Samaritan woman (John 4). He asked her if she wanted to drink from a well that never runs dry (my paraphrase). He offered her a water that would make her content. “Whoever drinks the water that I give, will never thirst again” (John 4:13). She replied with great wonder, “Sir, give me this water, so that I won’t get thirsty (John 4:15). Jesus assuredly told her, “I am He, the living water!” (John 4:26). Accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior is where you will find the end of your hungry soul.

A Word in Every Season

ImageUnderstanding the season you are in reveals the word God has placed in your heart. Every child of God carries a particular word in any given season. A word can be a revelation, an affirmation, a promise, a scripture, etc. This word first grows in your heart, changing you, but then it is for the edifying of the saints.

To illustrate this, we all know certain individuals that at one point or another repeated the same revelation or word, over and over. I used to find this very irritating, but the Lord said to me, “I have given that individual a word that has to be released; how he or she releases it is through their own personality.” In that instance, I understood one of the ways God fulfills His purposes on earth. He places a word in every individual for every season’s purpose.

You have a word that needs to be released and shared with others today. You may be releasing it, not aware. You may be conducting yourself in a way that is speaking to someone, yet you are unconscious of. The take-away here is that every child of God has a plan and a purpose that is connected to the body of Christ for edification. If we don’t walk in our callings, we are missing out on blessing others as well as ourselves.

The Kingdom of God surely advances, but as mentioned earlier, your part in it depends on your cooperation. We are here for each other; God uses us for one another’s benefit. Be aware of your influence, because wherever you go, you are influencing others. Don’t be concerned with how God will bring His will to pass, because He always does. He has even spoken through unbelievers to carry out His will. There are mentions in scripture when the Holy Spirit spoke through various unbelievers and even a donkey.  He is greater than we can ever imagine; His ways are perfect. Nevertheless, let us live as open vessels for the cause of Christ, releasing the word He has given us in every season. Do not concern yourself with the word you need to share, but simply love Jesus, and follow your heart. When you love Jesus with all your heart, your life will fall seamlessly into God’s perfect will.
